The First Ladies of the United States represent a social and historical cross section of our country from its beginning until today.
All of the First Ladies are dressed in period costumes that include matching satin undergarments, shoes, jewelry and hair fashions. Their costumes are much more elaborate than can be seen in pictures. The fabrics are all exquisite. All of these dolls have elaborate hair styles and their hair is perfect. These dolls have rarely been out of their boxes and are in perfect, mint condition.
JANE PIERCE, 1853-1857, came to the White House after her husband, Franklin Pierce, was elected to the presidency in 1852. His term in office was a stormy one, disturbed by the political controversies that preceded the Civil War.
